Summer Elementary Montessori Classroom

Summer Elementary Montessori Classroom

Experience the full range of materials in the Montessori curriculum. Students delve into their favorite subjects, while maintaining their academic progress of the previous year. They discover new interests in our art, music and movement studios and our garden & greenhouse! The summer elementary classroom is offered at the end of summer and serves as a great way to begin the transition back to school.

Who? Campers may have attended Mountaintop, another local Montessori school or a Montessori program elsewhere and do not need to be enrolled at Mountaintop during the academic year. Our summer Montessori elementary classroom is guided by members of our elementary faculty.

When? Come for mornings only to work with Montessori elementary materials in math & geometry, language, history & geography, and science & ecology, leaving the afternoons free for family fun, or attend both mornings and afternoons to experience the wider Mountaintop campus with its art, music & movement studios, garden & greenhouse, and ample time for outdoor play.

Where? A lower elementary classroom at Mountaintop. Their classroom is one of the big reasons that Montessori kids love to go to school. Our summer Montessori classroom for elementary students is full of amazing things, just like the Montessori early childhood classroom. And it gets even better! The maps and timelines of natural history have countless details. The math materials fascinate kids with multiplication on the checkerboard and division with racks & tubes. Grammar materials make abstract language concepts concrete and fun. Students in our summer elementary classroom will have a full range of materials for all subjects in the Montessori curriculum as well as the use of our art, music and movement studios and the garden & greenhouse. Our classrooms and kitchens are nut and peanut-free to provide a safe environment for campers with allergies. At Mountaintop, we know kids don’t stop learning when the seasons change. We know they’ll be thinking and growing wherever they are. And we know they love to be here sharing those summer adventures with friends.
